Email Marketing

We have checked that legitimate interests is the most appropriate basis for our email marketing.

☐ We understand our responsibility to protect the individual’s interests and therefore send as few marketing emails as we can and only relevant to the service we offer.
☐ We have conducted a legitimate interests assessment (LIA) and this is a record of it.
☐We have identified the relevant legitimate interests and they are:

Schools benefit from mosaic making and also benefit from the resulting art work for a number of reasons:

1 Mosaic making is a communal activity that 'lifts the spirits' of a school, it's children, staff and community. 
2 The mosaics often serve to commemorate important events in a school’s life such as memorials, anniversaries, celebrations and also are used for signage, to indicate the school's values and to make the most of it's logo.
3 Mosaic making is a creative and restorative activity that brings the whole school together.
4 Mosaic making is therapeutic, relaxing as well as stimulating.
5 Mosaic making can supplement the curriculum and create a creative focus for a whole school, children are exposed to new materials and new skills.
6 If we don’t market to schools they won’t know of our existence or the service we offer.
☐ We have checked that the processing is necessary and there is no less intrusive way to achieve the same result, we have done this by ensuring the database is held on one computer accessed by one designated person.
☐ We have done a balancing test, and are confident that the individual’s interests do not override those legitimate interests. We have done this by ensuring that emails are factual, short and to the point and are infrequent. Also there is an unsubscribe sentence at the end of the email.
☐ We only use individuals’ data in ways they would reasonably expect, unless we have a very good reason. 
☐ We are not using people’s data in ways they would find intrusive or which could cause them harm, unless we have a very good reason.
☐ We do not process children’s data and all photographs are pixelated.
☐ We have considered safeguards to reduce the impact where possible.
☐ We have considered whether we can offer an opt out, and we do, within our emails.
☐ We keep our LIA under review, and repeat it if circumstances change.
☐ We have included information about our legitimate interests in our privacy information.
